Indications & Usage

As an adjunct to diet for the reduction of elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. Also used for prevention of cardiovascular events.

Warnings & Precautions

Monitor liver function regularly. Report unexplained muscle pain or weakness. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.

Side Effects

May include muscle pain, headache, abdominal pain, and elevated liver enzymes.

Drug Interactions

May interact with CYP3A4 inhibitors, fibrates, niacin, and certain antibiotics. Grapefruit juice may increase levels.
